Portobello High School
Developed by the City of Edinburgh Council, Portobello High School covers an area of 16,996m² serving 1,500 pupils. We were asked to carry out whole life cost analysis of the project through the various RIBA development stages.
Through the whole life cost options analysis, we suggested a number of materials which we have seen used successfully on other education projects to reduce whole life costs with specific advice on floor finishes, external walls, roof insulation and M&E. The analysis we provided assisted in the identification of circa £2m over a 30 year period, in addition to reductions in the carbon footprint of the school.
