Three G&T projects nominated for prestigious RIBA Stirling Prize

Three G&T projects have been shortlisted for The RIBA Stirling Prize, the UK’s most prestigious architecture award, with the winner due to be announced in October 2018.

Born in 1996 out of its predecessor, The Building of the Year Award, The RIBA Stirling Prize is annually awarded to the best building in the UK, with judgement based on a range of criteria from accessibility and sustainability, to the level of client satisfaction and how fit the building is for its purpose.

G&T's nominated projects are as follows:

Storey’s Field Centre and Eddington Nursery

This unique building, which has already picked up the RIBA National Award 2018, the RIBA East Award 2018, the RIBA East Sustainability Award 2018 and the RIBA East Building of the Year Award 2018, provides a range of flexible community spaces, including an events venue for residents and the wider community and a nursery for 125 children. G&T provided Cost Management services on this exceptional project (find out more in our project case study).

The Sultan Nazrin Shah Centre

The Sultan Nazrin Shah Centre at Worcester College, University of Oxford is a brand new facility located in the listed parkland of the college housing a large lecture theatre, student learning space, seminar rooms and a dance studio. G&T provided Cost Management services as well as Principal Designer & CDM Consultancy services on this remarkable project which has also been named as a RIBA South Regional Award Winner 2018 (find out more in our project case study).

Chadwick Hall, University of Roehampton

Chadwick Hall, a new addition to the University of Roehampton’s student accommodation, is situated in the grounds of the Grade II* Listed Downshire House, alongside the historic sunken garden. G&T provided Project Management services on this scheme which aimed to create a welcoming hub for students while responding to the Georgian architecture of Downshire House. In addition to being shortlisted for the RIBA Stirling Prize 2018, the project won the RIBA London Award 2018 and the RIBA National Award 2018.
