This Leeds landmark has been transformed from the iconic 1920s cinema into a new type of office space for a modern future.  The dynamic space occupies a prime city centre location and has been chosen by Channel 4 for its new national headquarters.

G&T is providing Cost Management services. DLA Architecture and Buro Happold Engineering are the designers and Sir Robert McAlpine is the main contractor.

"The contrast of new and old is serving to create a captivating space which will be a fitting home for exciting, forward-thinking businesses in Leeds, unlike anything else currently on the market."

The Majestic has been converted into office accommodation providing 66,000 sq ft across seven floors with the lower ground floor having the option of retail and leisure space.

Features include terraces on the fourth and fifth floors overlooking City Square, alongside a new domed circulatory space recreating the historic Palm Court and a grand three-storey entrance atrium.

Many of the original features have been preserved to maintain its rich heritage and in addition two new replacement statues have been crafted by internationally acclaimed master sculpture Andrew Sinclair to honour the building's music and drama legacy.

"It has been wonderful to witness the redevelopment of such a great building, seeing modern office design carefully balanced with respecting the history of The Majestic. Whilst recreating some stunning historical features, the development has worked magnificently well in creating some truly prime office space on Leeds City Square"
