Challenge
The renovation of the Savoy Hotel’s guestroom wings involves delivering extensive refurbishments within a fully operational five-star, Grade II Listed building. Works must be carefully phased to minimise disruption to guests, with complex heritage, access and service coordination challenges. G&T's project management team was brought on board following completion of design and procurement to manage the project team and contractor performance at the start of works on site to ensure quality, cost and programme deliverables were met.
Solution
G&T is providing Cost Management and Project Management services with our project management team stepping in to lead the delivery, implementing stronger contractor control, phased construction planning, together with close coordination with hotel operations and conservation/planning specialists. The approach ensures minimal guest disruption, heritage compliance, and keeps the design ambition aligned with cost throughout each phase.
Outcome
Works are being delivered in phases, with completed areas already showcasing improved finishes and enhanced guest experience. The hotel has remained fully operational with no significant disruption to service or guest satisfaction. G&T’s proactive management has helped the client retain control over quality, cost and delivery on programme, while preserving the Savoy’s iconic heritage as each phase progresses.
