Career Changers
If you are looking for a new direction and a fresh start, we're with you every step of the way to an exciting new career.
Whether you're looking to build on experience gained in a related industry or take your career in a completely new direction, our Career Changers Programme is designed to help you make a successful transition into construction.
The construction industry offers a wide range of rewarding career opportunities for people with diverse backgrounds, experiences and skill sets. As the industry continues to evolve, we recognise the value that professionals from different sectors bring to our teams.
Many of the skills developed in other industries are highly transferable, including collaboration, problem-solving, communication, leadership and customer focus. Through structured learning, development and support, we'll help you apply these strengths in a new environment and build a fulfilling long-term career.
We encourage you to explore our current opportunities and discover how your existing experience could help shape the future of construction.
If you are looking for a change of direction for your career then G&T might be the place for you
Our Career Changers Programme covers three categories:
Career Changer
For those of you coming from a non-construction related industry and looking to build a career within the built environment. You will be joining other career changers such as teachers, healthcare providers, accountants and legal assistants.
You will be fully supported in your technical training through our early talent programme to ensure you have the key base knowledge to succeed within your role.
Construction Career Shifter
For those of you currently working in, or have previously worked in, construction and the built environment and are looking to either re-join the industry or switch to another role or discipline. Historically this has included architects, engineers, building surveyors and site managers for example.
We will support you through a tailored training plan in working towards your professional chartership.
Military Veterans
As a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant and a forces-friendly employer, we are proud to offer paths into the construction industry for those who have served. Prior construction knowledge is not a pre-requisite and we are open to applications from across the tri-services.
Common routes of progression for service leavers include procurement and project management-focused careers where the skills gained during service can be harnessed and supplemented by our in-house training programmes.
