What prompted you to apply to G&T?
I completed multiple work experience placements and thoroughly enjoyed my time here and knew it was somewhere I could see myself working. The Chartership Programme that G&T offers is outstanding and a unique opportunity, something I could not pass up! G&T is a lovely company to work for, they genuinely care about their employees and offer a wide range of perks.
Describe a typical working day
I carry out a range of tasks during my daily role at G&T. I complete tasks such as measurement, cost planning, tender organisation and reviews, contract development, valuations, comp checks and many more. I work on a wide range of projects across a number of sectors, such as residential, commercial and infrastructure.
What do you enjoy most about being on the Chartership Programme?
I enjoy the structure of the Chartership Programme - it's a great way to start your career as you have milestones to aim for and work towards and any progress you make is highly recognised. It's also great that you have a cohort of people who are going through the exact same thing at the same time as you and can relate to you in a way no one else can. I find this very helpful.
For anyone thinking of applying, what reasons would you give to encourage them to do so?
Earn while you learn! It's a great scheme that allows you to accelerate your career development in a way that no amount of study can and you make money whilst doing it! The team support you have around you is also second to none! It's the best decision I have ever made.
