Challenge
NHS North West London Procurement Services (NWLPS) sought to enhance value and efficiency across nine partner organisations by optimising its capital works procurement and Hard Facilities Management (FM) service delivery. The challenge was to assess and compare existing models across eight Trusts, identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to inform a unified, strategic approach that would improve service delivery and stakeholder satisfaction
Solution
G&T provided Facilities & Asset Management Advisory services, conducting a comprehensive review of capital works procurement and Hard FM service management across the Trusts. This involved analysing documentation, interviewing stakeholders, and developing baseline reports for each Trust. G&T then performed a formalised options appraisal, presenting ranked analyses of FM service delivery models and identifying capital works solutions aligned with the Trusts' objectives. The recommendations included cost estimations and organisational structure proposals to support informed decision-making and strategic planning.
Outcome
The strategic review provided NWLPS with a clear, comparative understanding of existing service delivery models and actionable recommendations for future improvements. G&T's insights enabled the Trusts to identify optimal FM delivery models and capital works solutions, enhancing efficiency, reducing risks, and improving overall service experiences for stakeholders, staff, and patients.
