Every year G&T’s annual internal cricket match sees the Under 30s take on the Over 30s as part of the sports and social engagement programme.
This year the rivalry was as fierce as ever in a nail-biting match umpired by G&T’s Managing Partner Adam Glover.
Having won the toss, the Unders chose to bat first, determined to get revenge on the Overs after their defeat last year. After an impressive performance in the first innings they managed to rack up a formidable score of 178-9.
The Overs fought hard to chase the Unders but ultimately fell short, finishing with a respectable score of 157-7. Although this was not enough to defend their title, both sides performed well, resulting in a close and compelling match that left spectators on the edge of their seats.
“Although our team didn’t win it was still a fantastic evening of sport enjoyed by players and spectators alike. We’re looking forward to next year’s match when we’ll be back to reclaim the trophy.”
