G&T is providing cost management services and life cycle costing on this project, which aims to combine both the heritage of the building with contemporary design features.
The Sir David Chipperfield designed scheme retains the unique external façade and incorporates a new hotel, retail and event space. The project includes 137 guest rooms, five restaurants, six flagship retail units, a spa and a 1,000 person ballroom. The plans also include significant public realm improvements.
30 Grosvenor Square, London is a Grade II Listed building and is situated within the Mayfair Conservation Area within the City of Westminster.
The project includes enabling works for the façade, demolition, piling and excavation of the basement, as well as the formation of basement box and concrete works including liner walls. The development will encompass both a retained facade and new elements at the rear of the building, mechanical and electrical infrastructure installation and the fit-out of a new car park, spa, ballroom, retail units, restaurants, hotel rooms and bar.
