Challenge
Provan Hall, a Category A listed medieval building dating back to the 15th century, stands as one of Glasgow's oldest surviving structures. Despite its historical significance, the building had fallen into disrepair, limiting public access and engagement. The challenge was to sensitively restore Provan Hall, preserving its architectural heritage while transforming it into an interactive heritage museum with community spaces and enhanced visitor experiences.
Solution
G&T provided Cost Management services for the comprehensive restoration of Provan Hall. Collaborating with Glasgow Building Preservation Trust and LDN Architects, G&T oversaw budget control, procurement strategies, and financial planning. Our expertise ensured that the restoration work adhered to conservation best practices, addressing structural issues and integrating modern amenities without compromising the building's historical integrity.
Outcome
The restoration has revitalised Provan Hall, transforming it into an engaging heritage attraction that offers interactive exhibits and community spaces. The project has not only preserved a significant piece of Glasgow's history but also created a vibrant centre for education and community engagement. G&T's cost management was instrumental in delivering the project within budget, ensuring the long-term sustainability of this cherished landmark.
