Challenge
As part of a long-term masterplan to transform the Science & Industry Museum, a range of complex enabling and improvement works were required to upgrade infrastructure, enhance visitor facilities, and prepare the site for major capital development. These special projects had to be delivered within a constrained, operational heritage environment, requiring careful phasing and coordination to avoid disruption to the museum’s public offer and historic assets.
Solution
G&T provided Project Management services to oversee the planning and delivery of these critical packages of work. Our role included programme coordination, stakeholder engagement, and risk management across multiple interfaces, ensuring that each project was delivered safely, efficiently and in support of the wider estate strategy. We worked closely with the client and design teams to maintain momentum and ensure that works were completed to a high standard, on time and within budget, while protecting the integrity of the site.
Outcome
The successful delivery of these special projects has unlocked future phases of the museum’s redevelopment and enhanced the functionality and resilience of key buildings and systems. G&T’s leadership helped ensure seamless integration with the museum’s broader transformation programme, supporting the client’s ambition to create a more sustainable, accessible and engaging visitor experience across the entire campus.
