Challenge
TEDI-London aimed to establish a state-of-the-art engineering campus that exemplifies sustainable development and innovative design. The challenge was to create a facility that could be rapidly constructed, environmentally friendly, and adaptable for future use, all while integrating seamlessly into the Canada Water area.
Solution
To meet this challenge, TEDI-London collaborated with G&T who provided Cost Management services. The campus was designed by Hawkins\Brown using a unique modular approach, with modules built in the UK and assembled on-site in just six weeks. The entire project was completed in under nine months, from signing the lease to occupation. The building's lightweight steel frame required only simple foundations, eliminating the need for piles. This modular design allows for future adaptability, enabling the building to be reused on-site, relocated, or dismantled for material recycling, thus contributing to the circular economy.
Outcome
The completed TEDI-London campus stands as a testament to rapid, sustainable construction and innovative design. Its modular structure not only facilitated swift assembly but also ensures long-term adaptability and minimal environmental impact. G&T's Cost Management expertise was instrumental in delivering this project efficiently, aligning with TEDI-London's vision for a forward-thinking educational environment.
