Ardrossan North Shore’s brand new Coastal Path officially opens to the public on 28th August. This serves as a key milestone of the Ardrossan Coastal Quarter regeneration project, alongside the completion of the enabling works contract.
G&T was appointed by North Ayrshire Council to deliver full Cost Management, Project Management and Contract Administration services for separate remediation and enabling works contracts. The works encompassed site remediation of contaminants, earthworks, construction of a new revetment, site roads and drainage, services utilities and coastal path. These sought to remediate the disused former Shell site, approximately 7.5ha in area and provide the required infrastructure for the construction of the new Ardrossan Community Campus.
Separate NEC4 contracts were used to maximise the delivery of the works, with both contractors working on different areas of the site. The interface between each contractor was a key component which G&T managed throughout the contract works as the NEC Project Manager.
The site has now successfully been handed over to the Ardrossan campus delivery team, set to be complete in 2027.
