Mad New York

Museum of Arts and Design

Renovation of the new 54,000 sq ft Museum of Arts & Design which transformed Columbus Circle into an educational, cultural and civic centre serving visitors, students, families and artists.

Works included four floors of exhibition galleries, a 150 seat auditorium in which the museum plans to feature lectures, films and performances together with a restaurant.

The façade of the new building is composed of textured terracotta panels glazed in a light colour - a material that resonates with MAD's craft tradition with transparent and fritted glass.
