The Christ Church Apartments project involved redeveloping the site of a former church in Leatherhead into a high-quality assisted living community. The narrow, sloping site, adjacent to residential properties and a junior school, posed challenges in terms of design, construction logistics and community engagement. Ensuring minimal disruption to neighbours and addressing their concerns were paramount throughout the development process.
Solution
G&T provided Development Monitoring services on behalf of Beaufort Capital. Prior to finalising the loan, G&T conducted thorough due diligence and reporting. Following the approval of funding, G&T provided ongoing monitoring of the project's progress from the ground up, including monthly project updates and approval of expenditure from the loan facility. This proactive approach ensured that the project remained on track and aligned with stakeholder expectations.
Outcome
The completed Christ Church Apartments development offers 62 one- and two-bedroom apartments designed for people in later life, featuring contemporary design and amenities such as a restaurant, wellness suite and landscaped gardens. G&T's diligent monitoring and stakeholder coordination contributed to the successful delivery of a vibrant, supportive community that enhances its residents' quality of life while respecting the surrounding neighbourhood's character.
