Challenge
The New Eidyn project aimed to introduce luxury residential living atop Edinburgh’s St James Quarter, a prominent mixed-use development. The challenge was to seamlessly integrate 152 high-specification apartments within a bustling urban environment, ensuring privacy and exclusivity for residents while maintaining harmony with the surrounding commercial and leisure spaces.
Solution
G&T provided Principal Designer & CDM Consultancy and Project Management services for the development. The project encompassed the construction of three distinct pavilions housing the apartments, situated on the fifth to eighth floors of the St James Quarter. We coordinated with stakeholders to manage the complexities of building atop an active retail destination, ensuring that construction activities did not disrupt the ongoing operations below. The apartments were designed with floor-to-ceiling windows, marble and stone worktops, oak timber flooring, and Miele appliances, offering residents panoramic views of the city and the Firth of Forth.
Outcome
The successful completion of New Eidyn has added a new dimension to Edinburgh’s residential offerings, providing residents with unparalleled amenities, private gardens, and panoramic city views. G&T ensured the development was delivered to the highest standards, enhancing the city's skyline and setting a new benchmark for urban living in Edinburgh.
