Island will provide Grade A office space that can seamlessly transition into alternative spaces to reflect future changes in working practices. The development will also provide retail units on the ground floor, event space and a communal roof terrace.
Sustainability is at the heart of this new 100,000 sq ft new office development. HBD signed a 5* NABERS Design for Performance Agreement with The Building Research Establishment (BRE), with an aspiration of reducing energy further, where possible, towards a 5.5* rating. The project will also achieve BREEAM 'Excellent' and EPC A ratings.
This level of performance would place the scheme alongside the most sustainable buildings coming to the market in Manchester.
