Challenge
The Maine aimed to establish its first international location by transforming a Grade II* listed Georgian townhouse off Hanover Square into a high-end brasserie. The project involved converting the historic building to house two kitchens, four bars, and a live music venue across three levels. The primary challenge was to execute a fast-paced design and construction programme that respected the building's heritage while delivering a sophisticated dining experience. This endeavour was further complicated by the constraints imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Solution
G&T provided Project Management, Cost Management, and Contract Administration services. We coordinated the design process, ensuring that the architectural vision aligned with the building's historical significance and met the client's operational requirements. We managed value engineering efforts to maintain budgetary control without compromising quality. Throughout construction, we navigated the challenges presented by the pandemic, implementing measures to keep the project on schedule and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Outcome
The successful completion of The Maine Mayfair resulted in a luxurious dining venue that seamlessly blends old-world elegance with modern extravagance. The establishment now offers patrons a unique experience within a meticulously restored historic setting. G&T's effective management and strategic oversight were instrumental in delivering a project that met the client's vision, adhered to budget and time constraints, and respected the building's heritage.
