As part of the London Real Estate Forum (LREF) 2018, New London Architecture (NLA) hosted a School Preview Day alongside The City Centre, supported by G&T. The day offered local schools the opportunity to engage with the industry and get exclusive access to the exhibition.
Over 150 students from eight local schools attended the event and took part in a full morning of activities, learning all about London’s developments. Volunteers from across the industry were on hand to answer questions, speak to teachers about opportunities to achieve qualifications and discuss new developments across the city.
As part of the morning G&T hosted a speed networking activity where the built environment professionals spoke to small groups of students about their career journeys and answered questions about their experiences in the industry. Following this, pupils were taken on guided tours around the exhibition and spent time with the NLA Head of Learning, Lettie McKie, around the City of London model, discovering exciting changes across the capital.

The NLA Learning Programme offers a wide range of activities for schools and students who want to find out more about the construction and property industry. G&T has supported the NLA Learning Programme for the last two years, developing relationships with local schools and introducing students to the different job roles available in property and construction.
G&T has a long history of supporting the next generation of property and construction professionals and engaging with the younger generation while they are still at school is an important part of this. Through our Change the Skyline initiative and our sponsorship of the Adopt a School programme we encourage students to learn about the opportunities in the industry and the different career paths available.
