Challenge
Apollo sought a new London headquarters to accommodate its growing operations. The selection of Soho Place marked a significant shift in location, prompting internal discussions about cultural alignment and business identity in a new neighbourhood. Alongside this long-term solution, temporary accommodation was required to support immediate expansion needs, necessitating a fast-tracked delivery within a dynamic commercial context. The relocation also coincided with the global COVID-19 pandemic, introducing further complexity into the design and planning process, as workspace strategies evolved to meet new expectations around flexibility, collaboration, and wellbeing.
Solution
G&T led the Technical Due Diligence exercise across potential sites and provided end-to-end Project Management support through the Agreement for Lease negotiations, working closely with Apollo’s agency and legal teams. We also oversaw the delivery of a temporary office space through a fast-paced design and build route to meet short-term growth requirements. Post-agreement, we led the appointment of the design team and guided the project through design development, including significant adjustments in response to the pandemic. The new workplace features a mix of cellular and open plan environments, client-facing areas, wellness facilities, and interconnecting staircases that foster internal connectivity. In parallel, we provided Base Build Monitoring services, ensuring the landlord’s works aligned with Apollo’s fit-out requirements.
Outcome
Apollo’s new headquarters at Soho Place reflects a thoughtful integration of brand, function, and future flexibility. Delivered within a complex urban environment and during a time of significant workplace transformation, the scheme successfully balances client-facing sophistication with modern employee-focused amenities. G&T’s multidisciplinary role ensured clarity and confidence across the acquisition, design, and delivery phases—resulting in a workspace tailored to Apollo’s evolving business and cultural ambitions.
