Challenge

As part of the ambitious East Bank development - home to the V&A East, BBC Concert Studios and Sadler's Wells East - the London College of Fashion faced the challenge of consolidating its various departments into a single, purpose-built facility. The goal was to create a landmark arts building that met high design and sustainability standards, all within a clearly defined budget.

Solution

G&T provided services up to RIBA Stage 4, collaborating closely with both the architects and engineers to shape a modern, high-performing facility. We supported the procurement strategy via a managed package solution, working with Mace to ensure the design intent was preserved while maintaining cost and programme control. Our involvement helped integrate complex stakeholder requirements within the constraints of a dense urban site.

Outcome

The result is a 13-storey, state-of-the-art campus that delivers on the College’s educational and creative ambitions. Designed with sustainability and functionality in mind, the building incorporates efficient vertical circulation to support its scale. As part of the East Bank cultural cluster, it stands as a flagship facility that reflects the London College of Fashion’s global reputation and future-focused vision.
