McLaren Living's new Build-to-Rent tower is the latest scheme to be given the green light by planners. The development, known as Wellington Square, will transform a 2.47-acre site into a gateway to Leeds city centre.

G&T is providing Cost Management services alongside heritage and planning consultant ID Planning, M&E consultant Crookes Walker and façades and structural engineer Meinhardt.

"G&T is delighted to be working with McLaren Living to deliver a major new scheme that will undoubtedly be one of the prime residential offerings in the city."

Designed by Howells Architects, the 45-storey BtR tower – The Hexagon – will become one of the city’s tallest landmarks providing 464 homes ranging from one to three bedrooms, with a sky bar offering panoramic views on the 45th floor.

Residents will benefit from about 10,000 sq ft of shared amenity space, including a concierge, post/parcel storage room and a lounge on the ground floor together with a fitness and wellbeing space on the first floor. All 21 car parking spaces will be equipped for electric vehicle charging.

Matthew Biddle, managing director at McLaren Living, added: “Our aim is to bring forward the residential as the first phase of the development. The hexagonal tower will be a new landmark on the Leeds skyline with striking architecture, delivering new homes with wonderful views across Leeds with access to a wide range of amenities on site including an outstanding sky-lounge on the 45th floor set within high quality public realm.”
