Black & White Building
Formerly a furniture manufacturing warehouse, The Black & White Building in Shoreditch will offer 48,000 sq ft of private and flexible office space as well as co-working areas and meeting spaces.
Designed by Waugh Thistleton, the project includes the demolition of the existing building and the erection of a new six-storey timber framed office. The new development will use Laminated Veneered Lumber (LVL) columns and beams, with Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) slabs. Visual grade CLT will also form the structure of the core walls.
The innovative and sustainable design places emphasis on utilising the exposed structural timber elements as the prominent internal design feature.
G&T is providing Cost Management services on the development and has been heavily involved in the consultation from the outset.
