Giving with Purpose this Christmas

G&T is celebrating the festive season through Giving with Purpose, a campaign that reflects our Business with Purpose ESG framework in action.

Each of our UK offices has chosen a charity to support through donations and local initiatives, organisations whose missions strengthen their communities and provide vital help to people during their most vulnerable moments. While each charity addresses different needs, they are united by a shared commitment to compassion, dignity and human connection. These values sit at the centre of this year’s campaign.

London: Hestia

Hestia supports adults and children at moments when life feels most overwhelming. The organisation provides safe refuges for women and children escaping domestic abuse, offering the opportunity to regain stability and rebuild confidence.

Their work brings hope into situations marked by fear and uncertainty, which is why our London team has chosen to support them this Christmas, as we have done for a number of years.

Bristol: The Marmalade Trust

Loneliness can be an invisible burden, but the Marmalade Trust is working to bring it into the open. The organisation supports people in making new social connections and creates pathways out of isolation, especially during times of year such as Christmas when the lack of companionship can feel particularly stark. By supporting the Trust, our Bristol office is championing the idea that everyone deserves to feel part of a community.

Edinburgh: Parkinson’s UK

For those living with Parkinson’s and their families, Parkinson’s UK is an essential source of guidance and advocacy. The charity funds research into better treatments, offers practical and emotional support and works to improve access to high quality care across the country. Our colleagues in Edinburgh are supporting them in recognition of the resilience required to navigate a long-term condition such as this.

Glasgow: Young Lives vs Cancer

A cancer diagnosis for a child or young person can be destabilising for them and their loved ones. Young Lives vs Cancer steps in to alleviate that burden with practical help, from providing temporary accommodation during treatment to offering specialist social workers who support families through the difficult decisions which arise in this situation. The organisation’s presence allows families breathing space to focus on wellbeing, and our Glasgow office is proud to back their efforts.

Leeds: St Gemma’s Hospice

St Gemma’s Hospice offers dignity and comfort to people with life-limiting illnesses, ensuring they receive the care they need at the end of their life. The hospice supports families too, helping them navigate emotional and practical challenges with sensitivity and expertise. By supporting St Gemma’s, our Leeds team is helping uphold the belief that everyone deserves compassionate care during their final days.

Manchester: Sam’s Superheroes

Rare epileptic conditions can leave families searching for answers and support. Sam’s Superheroes steps in by funding research, raising awareness and offering emotional support services which include therapy dog visits. These bring moments of calm and joy to children and parents. Their dedication to families facing rare and complex diagnoses is why our Manchester office has chosen to champion their work.

Newcastle: The Children’s Foundation

The Children’s Foundation works across the North East to improve the wellbeing of vulnerable children and young people. Their programmes range from health initiatives to emotional wellbeing projects, all specially designed to help children thrive regardless of the challenges they face. Our Newcastle colleagues are supporting the Foundation to help ensure every young person has the chance to grow, learn and feel supported.

Connected by Purpose

Although each charity focuses on a different issue, their work is united by a shared commitment to supporting those in need. Whether they are confronting illness, crisis or social isolation, these organisations bring humanity into situations marked by hardship and help people feel less alone.

Through Giving with Purpose, we deepen our support for the communities where we work and reinforce what matters most to us as a firm. As part of our broader ESG programme, detailed in our latest report, we continually look for ways to make a positive difference in the communities connected to our work. This campaign reflects our values and highlights a simple belief: purposeful action delivers meaningful change.
