In Memory of Kat Clover

It is with great sadness that we reflect on the passing of our colleague and friend, Kat Clover, at the age of 41.

Kat was a valued and much-loved member of G&T for 17 years. She was known for her dedication to her work as a Cost Management Partner and her enthusiastic contribution to the wider life of the firm. Her energy, warmth and generosity touched so many, and she will be deeply missed.

Kat’s career at G&T was rich and varied, spanning projects in residential, hospitality, education, healthcare and science. She played key roles in the redevelopment of Coventry University, the first phase of Lillie Square on the former Earl’s Court site, the transformation of Stratford Waterfront, the redevelopment of Eynsham Hall (now Estelle Manor members’ club and spa), the Hoxton Shepherd’s Bush, Central Foundation Boys’ and Girls’ Schools, the Oak Cancer Centre and most recently The Royal Marsden Chelsea Development which will deliver an integrated environment for research, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation for those living with, in remission from, and beyond cancer. Kat also supported our charity partner CRASH by providing pro bono services for the refurbishment of St Christopher’s Hospice. Her professionalism, attention to detail and commitment to clients earned her the respect of colleagues and project teams alike.

Beyond her project work, Kat was at the heart of our APC programme and served as an RICS Assessor. Her unwavering support for those pursuing their Chartership with RICS was nothing short of extraordinary. Over the years, she played a pivotal role in shaping the success of candidates’ APC journeys — training assessors, mentoring candidates and acting as a counsellor with unmatched dedication. She was generous with her time, always ready to offer guidance, encouragement and wisdom. Many candidates owe their success, and the confidence they built, to her belief in their potential.

Kat was also a beacon of support and empowerment for women in the industry. A member of G&T’s first Women’s Development Programme cohort, she went on to champion initiatives that opened doors for women at every stage of their careers. She actively contributed to diversity initiatives including Change the Skyline, the Building for Women network and senior female focus groups, supporting junior women as they progressed through the firm.

Her contributions went far beyond professional development. Kat was a driving force in the social life of the firm. She led the G&T netball team and organised many “friendly” inter-floor tournaments - always bringing people together with her trademark competitive spirit. She masterminded the monthly South Crescent socials and launched the “Let’s Get Quizzical” quiz nights during lockdown, keeping colleagues connected during a challenging time.

Outside of work, Kat was a proud dog mum to her much-loved rescue dogs, Milo and Danni, and an advocate for adopting rather than buying pets. She was also a keen supporter of charitable causes and an active advocate for education and enterprise in Malawi, which she visited. She championed Rainbow Hope School, Women’s Business Enterprise and Tina’s Pads, a not-for-profit organisation for local schoolgirls and women.

In every sphere, Kat made a difference. She built strong, lasting relationships and was respected for her dedication, generosity of spirit and commitment to the people and projects she cared about. Her legacy lives on in the countless professionals she helped shape and friendships she built with her adventurous spirit and endless energy.

Kat’s absence will be felt deeply by all who knew her. We are grateful for her contribution over 17 years and for the many ways she enriched life at the firm.
