Work has begun on the first phase of AFC Bournemouth’s new training facility on the former 57-acre Canford Magna golf club.
G&T is providing Cost Management, Principal Designer & CDM Consultancy and Contract Administration services on the phased development which will bring together AFC Bournemouth’s first team, development squad, academy and pre-training operations into one location for the first time.

The new training ground will include full size pitches, junior pitches and specialist goalkeeping areas alongside both indoor and outdoor artificial playing surfaces. Internally, there will also be state-of-the-art medical, fitness, sports science and rehabilitation facilities as well as administrative space and a press conference media suite.
AFC Bournemouth chief executive, Neill Blake, said: “We are delighted to make this step which will help our thriving academy system. It’s a really positive step for everyone at the football club and we are really pleased to begin development of this first phase of work for our academy.”
