We provided Cost Management services for the construction of a 3m diameter cable tunnel running from Rowdown to Beddington, a distance of 10km, including the incorporation of the mechanical and electrical systems required to ventilate the tunnel and also the electrical systems and vehicles required for the maintenance of the tunnel.

The tunnel depth varied between 11m and 40m and was constructed, in the main, through the aquifer. Four shafts of 12.5m in diameter were also constructed, each with an associated head house. The total contract value was £70m.
