The Pods is a series of linked glulam geodesic domes, faced in a mixture of sedum, timber, sarnafil and glass to complement the surrounding area. The leisure complex houses an eight lane 25m pool and sports hall housing six courts. A viewing gallery, learner pool, gym, dance studio, sauna suite, changing areas, crèche and café areas also form part of the complex.

The Pods has a sustainability stragegy including a biomass boiler, integrated grey water system and the use of sustainable materials internally under WRAP's guidance. Externally The Pods has a passive water treatment system which circulates run-off water around the building through a lagoon and planted channels, filtrated by a leca pit.
